Beaumont Students Win at District Science Day
At the Western Reserve District 5 Science Day, sponsored by the Ohio Academy of Science, Beaumont students won seven awards. Additionally, of the 23 students who competed, 18 students’ scores qualified for State Science Day which will be held at Ohio State University on May 11, 2013. This is the largest Beaumont group ever to qualify for State Science Day.
The seven award winners in Category Awards are:1st Place in Mathematics to Anna Grushetsky ’13, 2nd Place in Biochemistry to Megan Jones ’13 and 3rd Place in Botany to Elizabeth Stanitz ’14.
Beaumont students who received honors in the Sponsored Awards include: Akron District Society of Professional Engineers – Emily Boes’14, American Institute of Chemical Engineers – Laura O’Meara ’16, ASM International – Courtney Prebul ’13, and Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC – Julia Parker ’14. The awards were presented March 16 at the University of Akron.

At State Science Day, Beaumont students will be competing for more than $2.3 million in college scholarships, trips, bonds, and cash prizes.
