Beaumont Wins RoboBot Competition!

The "Beaumonsters" and their battling RoboBot "Ramses" won the AWT RoboBot Competition at Lakeland Community College this year. They will go on to the national competition in Indianapolis in May.

The competition is a partnership overseen by AWT, Alliance for Working Together, to encourage students' interest in manufacturing. Students, working with a mentoring company, must design and draw plans, including details on materials, weapon-system and strategy. 19 teams participated in the competition this year.

For the past two years, Beaumont has worked with Christopher Tool in Solon. Last year, the first year they competed, Beaumont came in second to West Geauga High School. This year, Beaumont defeated West G to win first place. Beaumont won trophies and a heavy metal chassis kit, valued at $900 to help construct next year's robot.
