Parent Newsletter for February 7, 2013

Message from the Principal

Dear parents and friends of Beaumont,

As I write this letter on the eve of our infamous "Beaumont Day" I find myself continually distracted by thoughts of how exciting and fun-filled our day will be tomorrow. Historically, Beaumont Day continues to be the most coveted school day of the year. It is the one event that is talked about all year long. Not only do the girls enjoy the entire day of fun and games, our faculty's participation and enthusiasm is as high as our girls. Parents also remind me of how much they enjoy being a part of this day, too.

Our Mothers' Guild does a great job recruiting parents to help throughout the day. Parents serve food, work the Cake Walk, help with the Photo Booth and play side by side with our girls in the many events and activities that are scheduled throughout the day. It is never too late to volunteer to help out on this day so if you are available to help, contact a Mothers' Guild member and get your name on the list. Surprisingly, this is one event that the girls actually enjoy having a parent "chaperone." All are welcome and we always appreciate an extra set of hands.

Third Quarter is in full swing so the Parent Teacher Conferences are quickly approaching. They will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 between the hours of 3:00 - 8:00 pm. We had such great success with the online registration that we are continuing the registration process. We listened to the parents last time and therefore, extended the hours of conferences to meet the needs of additional time slots for each teacher. If, by any chance, you are still closed out of a teacher's time slot, do not hesitate to contact the teacher personally to schedule a conference another time during the week. The teachers are eager to meet with any parent of a current student and will accommodate requests for a conference.

Please note that our Guidance Department has planned  Course Selection Presentations this night, as well. These presentations are grade specific and the guidance department will be presenting each grade level talk twice throughout the evening to allow parents to plan conferences with teachers around these presentation times.

Parents of current 9th grade students can attend from 3:30 - 4:00 or 5:45 - 6:15 PM
Parents of current 10th grade students can attend from 4:14 - 4:45 or 6:30 - 7:00 PM
Parents of current 11th graders can attend this presentation from 5:00 - 5:30 or 7:15 - 7:45 PM

If you have any questions or concerns about your daughter's courses or the selection process for next year, you would benefit from attending one of these sessions. Parents find them very helpful in looking at the "big picture" of their four year experience at Beaumont School. We hope you can attend.

As of today, the online process has begun so look at the article below for the link to begin this registration process. Please contact if you have any problems registering for these conferences.

Tomorrow a select group of young ladies will miss Beaumont Day because they will be attending the Mock Trial competition held downtown. This competition was originally scheduled for last Friday but was cancelled due to the inclement weather we experienced. Unfortunately it was rescheduled for tomorrow, Beaumont Day. A special thanks is extended to these girls who are graciously giving up Beaumont Day to represent us at this annual Mock Trial Competition. We are grateful for their dedication to this commitment and wish them the best of luck tomorrow. They have practiced hard and under the direction of Mrs. Mulhall and Mrs. DeWitt, we know they will make us proud.

Enjoy your Friday. We surely will enjoy ours! (Don't forget that it is an 8:30 am arrival tomorrow!)

As Always, Beaumont is blessed,

Mary Whelan
