OR, you may send in a note to the Main Office stating when your daughter is arriving late/leaving early and the reason why.All students must sign in and out at the Main Office when they are arriving late or leaving school early.
Q: Will my daughter’s Doctor/Dentist Appointment be reported in her attendance record?
A: An appointment verification card must be obtained from your daughter’s Doctor/Dentist and submitted to the Main Office when your daughter returns to school from her appointment. The Doctor/Dentist appointment will be recorded in your daughter’s attendance, but not included in her total number of absences.
Q: What is considered as ‘tardy’?
A: A student is tardy when she reports to school after 8:00 a.m., or reports after the start of homeroom or class, supervised study, ILT, or assembly. All tardiness is reported in a student’s attendance record. There are no valid reasons for tardiness, regardless of parent contact. Please call the attendance line at 216-321-2954 x9, if your daughter will late by 15 minutes or more.
Q: If I need to get a message to my daughter during the school day, should I text her?
A: You may certainly text your daughter, but please be aware that students are able to check their cell phones between classes only. If the message is alarming or urgent, please contact the office before and/or instead of texting your daughter. We want your daughter to be in the best place possible to receive difficult news. Additionally, if you need to pick your daughter up early or pass along an item, please arrange this through the Main Office before texting your daughter. Students need to pick up items at the Main Office; the Main Office also needs to be aware of any news involving absences. Finally, if your daughter feels ill, she may text you. However, she will need to visit the school clinic before leaving home. Please do not call the Main Office to inform the receptionist that your daughter has texted you that she is feeling ill and that you will be picking her up from school. Encourage the proper procedure: While your daughter may certainly text you, if she is feeling ill, she should visit the school clinic and our health aide will arrange for pickup.
Please see the Cell Phone Policy in the Student Handbook for complete information about student cell phone usage and expectations.
Q: My daughter will be driving to school, can she park on Campus?
A: Campus parking permits are available each year. The link to purchase a parking permit is available on the Final Forms school registration site, on the main school website, and will be sent out via a Constant Contact email during the summer months. Students and guardians must fully complete the online form in order to purchase a permit. Permits are available for three lots on campus and lots are filled on a first-paid, first-serve basis. Permits are $80 and should be paid through our online payment service with a credit card; you will find the payment information via the parking link.
Parking permit passes must be displayed on the rearview mirror of the vehicle at all times. It is important that students adhere to campus parking rules in order to maintain their parking privileges.
If a student would like to purchase a parking permit during the school year, she may. The link remains live all year. However, at all points throughout the school year, the permit fee remains $80.
